Baby It's COLD Outside!  BRRRRRR!

In Birmingham we don't usually have below freezing temperatures for days on end.  There are those days every once in a while when we have to be careful about icy patches on the roads and interstate bridges, but these often melt as the sun comes out or the temperature rises during the daytime.  We've been freezing our butts off this week!

The fountain at the Chase Corporate Center (where my office is located) has been frozen like this since at least Monday.........that was the day I took this photo and so far I've seen no signs of it melting.  The sun was out yesterday and again today, but at noon it is still only 29 degrees.

We have snow in the forecast for tomorrow!  Not just flurries, but maybe we will have some accumulation since the ground is so cold.  I'll believe it when I see it, but it sounds like our chances are pretty good to get some of the white stuff this time.  I would love to have some, just don't let my power go out and I don't want to be stranded in the house.  The good thing is I don't have to go to the grocery store today, so I can avoid those long lines of everyone stocking up their pantries and fridges.  I've got milk, bread and lots of other good stuff too!

Stay tuned for snow pictures!

I see that you are prepared with the milk and bread, but do you have any decent wine in the cellar?

Hi Anne,

Here in central Texas we are not used to such cold weather for days on end either. I believe it's going to get even worse in the next few days. Brrrrrrrrr   The worst for over 50 years I believe!!

Now what was that about global warming??  LOL

Anne...I know in some instances, especially with the humidity factor, you all have had colder weather than we have had in Colorado...However............A very cold winter storm is encroaching upon us later this afternoon...Bundle up!

Ann, well you are about an hour and a half south of me, so I'll be getting some of that snow you mentioned.  Being from the Chicago area I'm used to snow and cold temps but here in the Madison/Huntsville area it's a different story.  There is talk of road closures and everyone is stocking up on milk etc.  I think it's kind of funny that there is a run on gas stations because no one drives anyway!

Another bit of information or rumor I heard was that insurance companies would not pay claims during hours of road closures in this area...I don't have a clue if this is true or not.  If it is true, I'm willing to bet that a lot of people don't know about it and should.

We are seeing the works of Global Freezing, every American needs to send me a $100. bill so I can fly around the world and tell other countries about it.

Never mind I just found a grant for that, congress will give me $100,000 to survey the cold in the South and there is more... :) Sorry I am being sill congress would never give a $100,000 that is unbelievable more like a billion.
