Rare Forecast For The Pell City Area

By
Real Estate Agent

The weather forecast of snow in the Pell City area was a rare forecast that had all the children excited with anticipation. The band of snow predicted, blew through the area quicker than anticipated and left very little snow.  During this time the temperature remained a few degrees above freezing and melted the snow on the roads.  When the temperature did drop the roads and overpasses quickly froze into black ice.

The Arctic Blast we are experiencing here is not something the area is equipped to handle.  The forecast low for tonight is 15; Friday nights low is 12 and 9 for Saturday night. The expected wind chill for tomorrow and Saturday is to be below zero. Due to the dangerous driving conditions, it is advised that you stay off of the area roads.  If you do have to travel, take extreme precautions.

Somewhere, I have a picture of when it snowed when I was a kid over on Coleman street (by Wolf Creek Road) out there.  Not at all equipped for snow!  Be careful!

Hi Diane, Thank for sharing these wintery freezing pictures with the group.  I don't think snow will be that much of a factor, it is TOO COLD  to snow. The poor little snowflakes are huddling together and losing their idenity and turning onto ice. :-)

Sherree, I don't live that far from Wolf Creek; it's a small world isn't it.

William, I wished we had snow instead of ice. It would have made the kids happy.

Tony & Darcy, I am waiting to hear how many weather records have been broken.

Jane, it is amazing how broad this Arctic Blast is. It is doing a lot of damage across the country.

Rob,  Roll Tide.... A lot of happy campers wouldn't you say.

Thanks for stopping by...

Hi Diane - We all seem to be in the same arctic blast! I heard on the news the other day that 35% of the country was freezing!
