Lets create an awareness or appreciation of the value for REALTORS.

As a REALTOR some of the expenses entailed. For an example, We have to pay $700 to stay being an active REALTOR this month, and then again in a few months it comes due again. That does not include paying for a website monthly, or for the IDX MLS Search Feature for the website, plus so much more just for the website; E-Flyers, Direct mail campaigns, And all the other expenses to much to list.
Plus, other skills and expenses like Being a capable Photographer to capture the right lighting and create good photographs, manipulating photographs such as enlarging photos, making photos smaller, and then taking those photographs and creating a virtual tour; Then knowing SEO, search engine optimization, which is a whole other knowledge base to get the exposure to market listings. The List goes on and on, and that does not even begin with knowing the paperwork involving contracts, and the legalities.

We work hard for free sometimes & don't get paid, and then sometimes we do get paid, but we gladly serve our clients; at least for us we have a true desire to help both the buyer and seller connect, which creates a win win for both the buyer and the seller to include a large number of businesses such as mortgage lenders, title companies, inspection companies, insurance companies, contractors to do repair work, and so on and so forth

And it is baffeling that people think they themselves and everyone should get paid, and paid well, but REALTORS?

We have so many hats to wear, information on lending, 203k, FHA, Commercial, VA, IRS Tax issues, Title, Decorating, Satistics, Trends, Marketing, WWW. I even used a cheat sheet for HTML, SEO, Photography, MLS, On and On

Please if you have some kind words of encouragement leave a comment, or feel free to add to the list of tasks, expand on education we continually complete.  We could expand on RESPA, and so forth.  Thank You for visiting and taking the time to read and respond to our blog.

So true. We as Realtors are running our own small business, our own corporation. As business owners we all must look at our expenses, some fixed and some discretionary. Look at what is discretionary and see if you are getting a return on your investment. Tracking is key. Track where your leads and sales are coming from.
Happy New Year

the small few who should not be in the business give us a bad reputation.....we have to continue to give good quality service and separate ourselves from those who should not be in this business.

Phillip and Theresa, thanks for pointing out the expenses and the many hats a REALTOR® wears in order to make a transaction work smoothly for a seller or buyer.

Realtors do not get the recoginition that they should get, partly because we are too busy competing rather than helping or showing off the profession.

I believe there is enough abundance for everyone.  In lifting each other up and encouraging each other, it comes back to our doorsteps.

You know give and ye shall receive.  Paraphrased Bible.
