Letter From Equator Support...For Forms

Dear Paul,

If you're having difficulty with forms, it will have to do with your browser or your Adobe Reader.

Equator is not compatible with the AOL or Safari browsers. For application optimization use Internet Explorer (6.0 or later), or Mozilla FireFox.

ADOBE READER - TEST COMPATIBILITY

The Equator system makes extensive use of online PDF Forms. You can test your Adobe Reader compatibility with our online documents:

Login to your account at www.equator.com.

Near the bottom of the "My Account" page you will see, "Test your compatibility with our online PDF Forms."

Please take a few seconds to run the test by clicking the "Test PDF" link. This will open an online document.

Enter your name in the box and click "Submit."

If your version of the Adobe Reader is compatible, a message box will pop up that states "Test Form Submitted Successfully."

ADOBE READER - CURRENT VERSION

Check the Adobe Reader website for the latest version.

To check the version the Adobe Reader installed on your computer:

Open the Adobe Reader.

Click on the "Help" tab.

Select "About Adobe Reader."

A pop up window will launch with corresponding version information.

The Equator platform supports the Adobe Reader 7.0 and higher. If you have an Adobe Reader version less than 6.x you will need to uninstall. To do this, open the Control Panel on your computer and select "Add or Remove Programs" (the Windows Vista equivalent is "Programs and Features").

The list is alphabetized so the Adobe Reader should be near the top. Highlight the version and select "Remove."

Multiple versions of the Adobe Reader, may create conflicts. Please verify that the latest version of the Adobe Reader is installed.

Using the Adobe Reader version 7.0 and higher may return the following error message:

"You cannot save data typed into this form. Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."

When you see this message box, click on "Do not show this message again" and then click on the "CLOSE" button.

You will not be able to submit the form successfully until this is done.

ADOBE READER - RUNNING A REPAIR

If you're having trouble saving your online PDF forms or if the forms are not working properly, we recommend running a repair on Adobe Reader.

To run a repair:

Exit your internet browser

Open the Adobe Reader program

Choose "Help"

Select "Detect and Repair" (for Adobe Reader 7.0 or above) or "Repair Adobe Reader Installation" (for Adobe Reader 8.0 or higher).

A window will appear stating "Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Reader"

When the repair window closes reopen your internet browser and test your online form.

Thank you,

Nichole

Thanks this reinforced what I already knew that Equator doesn't support Safari. I didn't realize it did support Mozilla. I will have to try that on my Mac.

Michelle, what is still not working? Are you having browser problems, or just frustration with the forms. I had talked with one of the tech there, and he said that he had made the suggestion they should use HTML based programming instead of the present.

I have literally had to buy a new computer because nothing I did would allow me to fill out the forms. Now, $800 dollars in new equipment and new adobe t still is not allowing me to fill them out. I have to use an old computer to fill out PDF's and the new one to upload documents. Is there a setting in my Windows 10 that is not allowing this? We have literally contacted EQ support 14 times with no resolution or help. This is a brand new computer. There should be no problem at all. I would be so grateful for the help!
