As regular readers of my blogs know, much of what we eat (produce) we grow right here on our property.  Currently we are eating broccoli, cauliflauer, assorted lettuces, kale and assorted herbs.  The asparagus is finished.  We are eagerly anticipating beans, potatos and very soon, garlic.  We are also picking baskets of cherries and raspberries daily.  Onions, corn, tomatoes, shallots, squash, beets, carrots and peppers will be coming on later.  We are in the process of planting seed for some overwintering crops now also (broccoli and other cole crops, sweet onions and later we'll plant lettuces in the green house for winter eating.)  Here are a couple of shots from the garden this morning.broccoli

As you can see, there is a lot going on.  The foreground is all perennial herbs.  The cole crop at the rear is Brussels Sprouts.  We get our first harvest from them on Thanksgiving.

As always, thanks for looking.

Great garden.  My husband and I have gotten the bug.  We planted tomatoes and cucumbers and herbs this year just to see if we could do it.  They turned out great.  We have more tomatoes than we can eat but we love sharing them with our friends.

Thanks Pam for the comment and pun.

Scott, Thanks for dropping by.  I love your island.  The Saturday market in Ganges is spectacular.

Thank you for the comment Chrystina.

Sybil, If you have too many tomatoes, try freezing them.  Put them in plastic bags whole and pop them in the freezer.  In December (any time at all actually) use them in stews, make tomato sauce, pasta etc.  They really give you the flavor of Summer.
