Today's Hawaii Mortgage Interest Rates and Real Estate News - Including VA Loans and Refinance

• Mortgage Applications at a 12 yr low, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association, despite historically low rates.

• Freddie Mac released results showing 2010 trending with slightly lower rates than how 2009 ended.

Hawaii Interest Rates as of 01/08/09:

Base rate (lowest you can buy with points) today for a 30 yr fixed loan is about 4.25%. The going rate (with no lender points) is about 5%.

Base rate today for a 5 yr fixed loan (30 yr term) is about 3.5%. The going rate is about 3.625%.

Base rate today for a Hawaii VA Loan is about 4.75%. The going rate is about 5.125%.
