The Denver Art Museum from 13th StreetLast week the Denver Art Museum opened, with rave reviews.  People stood in line before the sun came up to get free timed tickets to enter.  Some even came back in the middle of the night just to be among the first to see the museum.

Have I seen it?  No.  Have I been stalking it?  Yes.  I keep trying to find the perfect spot to photograph it.  Here is it looking at it from the east on 13th Street at about 2 p.m.  Still a couple blocks away my 55-200mm pulls it in.

Note the Denver Library to the right.  It too is an architectural wonder.

Welcome to Denver...

70?  I bet your southern bones are chilled then!  We are expecting a frost soon.  I had to say good bye to my flowers yesterday....it's so sad, they have been wonderful this year.

It can really be cold here when its get 40 because it can still be very humid. I cannot remember if I need to get a jcaket this year. Last year we didn't get a frost.

I love your visual approach to blogging - from your photo to your photos. Interesting how the lens you're using makes it appear that one building is reaching over and touching another.

You seem to be a shutterbug, KK... you must have one HECK of a camara to get some of the shots I have been seeing.....

I have a NICE Canon AE-1 with an 80-200mm zoom and a tele-extender.......BUT I only have a 2MP camara for use with listings.....and a memory card so I can take 90 pics with it...

I haven't shot a pic with my Canon for over 2 years.....I have a tripod and flash with it too.... :(

Great pic Kristal!  I miss Denver and that area brings back memories.  I was born and lived there for 36 years.  I'm in KC for now but keep posting those pics.  How's the light rail coming?  GO BRONCOS!

Thanks all for the compliment on my photo.  I do enjoy traipsing around with my camera.

Paul, the light rail opens up next month on I-25.  We are anxiously awaiting it.

Funny How I was reading about Libeskind today and his controversial architecture.  The link gives you a different perspective of the Museum.....very cool Kristal!

My husband and I went to the opening as well.  I love that photo you took!  I was there most of the day and I didn't see that view; you have a great eye!  I checked out the loft apartments accross the courtyard while I was there and was underwhelmed.  I thought the price point was too high, plus all those sharp angles pointed at you made for very bad fung shui!

We actually walked from the REI (by the Aquarium) all the way to the museum along the platte river path.  It was lovely to walk the whole way without dealing with traffic.  Our two dogs and two girls had a swell time.
