Recently went to a class on security for Realtors. They talked about how the Garmin is high on the list for theft, and when you program HOME in the system, the burglars now know where you live too! Program your neighbor, or someone in the neighborhood, or even the gas station on the corner for your safety.

Thanks for the tip. I always put the Garmin out of sight or in the trunk. Didn't think about the "home" issue.
Joan, thanks for the "Heads Up". I recently heard about an incident where someone was at a football game got their car stolen with the GPS in it. When they got home they found their house had been burgularlized. The theifs not only knew where they lived, had transportation provided but had the directions to the families house. They also knew the family was at the ball game and would not be home for a while.
Great Tip but Mine is built in to the car and its on my blackberry that is password protected. GPS love it!
I always put my garmin out of site when I park and I don't have home programmed in. It is in my address area and I just pick recent address entries. This way it is not labeled home. Great tip though for people that do have that done.
I have changed "My Home" to somewhere close, but no one would know where my house is.
Chip, both of my cars have GPS, and still use my Garmin, just find it easier to use.
