Little Si (Mountain) North Bend, WA

There are quite a few hikes around North Bend, WA. And this is one to the most beautiful. Make sure and take plenty of water (and some snacks) especially in the hot weather we've been having lately! It's a great hike for families & beginners. It's about 5 miles round trip.
You start out at the trail-head and walk into the tree lined forest. At a little under an hour into the hike you find yourself amongst the tall wondrous cavern like cliffs towering above you. Most likely you will hear the echoes (and may be able to see) Rock Climbers perched above you between these rocky cliffs.
The view from the summit of Little Si is well worth your efforts. Looking out around you, you will see the majestic tree covered mountains and the valley all around! I took this picture from the summit of Little Si. It is looking up toward Mt. Si (8 Mile round trip hike):

Directions to Little Si:
i-90 east to exit# 31 (head North)
East on North Bend Way
Left on Mt. Si Rd.
apx. 1/2 mi. to the trail-head

**Don't forget to stop by the greatest Shake & Burger place around on before you leave town! Scott's Dairy Freeze. It's right along North Bend Way as you drive back through town. C'mon you walked for hours, you deserve to have a juicy burger and a peanut butter shake! You can sit outside and look up at the masterpiece that you conquered that day. It's the perfect end to a perfect day!

That is one of my favorite hikes in the area!  The views of the valley at the end of the trail are the best around for such a manageable hike.
