Who is Keeping you Accountable?

By
Real Estate Agent with Mini Enterprise, LLC

A Coach? or a Trusted Friend? How about both?

Carp Dieme! Seize the day! but what happens when u can't even seize the minute?

As Realtors, it is not so easy to stay on track with our daily tasks. There are days when you're so fired up and just want to get in the office and prospect, prospect, prospect - Yet, there are days when you just wanna stay in bed because there is absolutely NO ONE that will call you and ask why you're not in the office today. A day, a week, a month or even a year can go by, and you won't hear from anyone! (Ok, well, maybe not a year, but u get the point!)

It is when we have these lazy days that we need an accountability partner to yell at us (rather so gently) and say, "Get to Work!" Without a Working plan in place, we just won't get the work done!  I am the type of person that needs an accountability partner, a coach.  Last year, I HIRED a Coach to keep me on my toes and I paid big bucks for him to keep me accountable but I realized later than sooner that No amount of money can buy you a person that cares about you.  Sure, he gave the pep talk until the contract deadline but what about someone that sticks with you even after the expiration?

This year, instead of hiring someone that didn't know me or that I didn't know, I asked a friend of mine to be my Coach. I must say my first day with my NEW coach was more productive than an entire year with my previous coach. So, what's different this time around?

I didn't have to answer a book of questions for my coach to know my character - my trusted friend knows me inside out

I didn't have to wonder if my coach knew how to develop a business plan - my trusted friend has been a successful entrepreneur for over 17 years

I didn't have to wait for the next Tuesday to roll around to speak to him - my trusted friend is always available - day and night

I didn't have to pretend to be someone I am not - My trusted friend would see right through me

So, take it from me - instead of hiring someone to keep you on track, find someone who would love to make you stay on track!

Find someone you know, find someone you trust and find someone that will go the extra mile for you, Just because they care!

Hiring a Coach = $8,000 a year

Asking a faithful friend = Priceless!

A special Thank you, to my faithful friend for agreeing to go along with me on this Journey! I hope that I make a difference in your life as I know you will mine!

Is your friend someone in the business? Or just someone who checks in and keeps you focused?  Just curious.
