Postcard Marketing - Who do you use?

By
Real Estate Agent with ReMax Preferred Associates

Hello everyone,

Can you recommend a good postcard/marketing company, that I can find online?  I would like to start a year-long marketing plan to some apartment complexes in the area, and want professional cards, that don't cost a fortune.

Any tips on content?  I am going to shoot for the KISS philosophy.  Just keep it simple, and always keep my name in their mind....

What do you think?

I've used ReaMark for a long time (not actually using any now).  Good luck.

I have been using "Stay in Touch Systems" for over 3 years.   I pick a years selection of jumbo size monthly cards. You can select a standard message or customize the monthly message.   I can maintain my "mailing list" online.  Here is their link www.stayintouchsystem.com. Oh, and I have myself on my mailing list, so I can always see the card that gets sent out each month.   I have not used it for farming/prospecting.  I use if for my customer database, just to keep my name in their minds after the sale.

I've just ordered 100 postcards from VistaPrint...for FREE.  S&H is $5.45.  I designed them to send to the neighbors of open houses I'll be hosting...when I get my license, of course.  Small detail.  :)

Every week, it seems I get another offer from them to order something for free.  I got 250 business cards (pre-real estate agent cards...mostly for fun) and also only paid $6 for S&H.

I wish they offered door-hangers!!  That's what I REALLY want to use for marketing.

Vicki,

Thanks for the post. I use Sharperagent.com for my postcards. I can use a template to create them and there are hundreds to choose from, I can email them, have them printed and shipped to me and I can mail them or I can have them printed and mailed for me. Like wise with fliers.

I have used vistaprint in the past myself. I have tried custom made postcards and stock postcards. I have not been using very many lately. Give Vistaprint a try.

I use a local printer - but, then, I'm married to him. ;-) I design my own templates - once that's done, it's easy, I just drop the info that I want in.  AND I know that, no matter what, no one that I mail a card to is going to receive a virtually identical card with someone else's name and face on it in the mail.  Also, I have a little more control over the finished product, and a little bit more personalized attention (hush, y'all, stop snickering!).

I'd likely use a local printer even if I wasn't married to one, just to support the local economy.  That counts in my market.

I have used Direct-color, i am getting away from postcards but they are inexpensive if you buy in lots of 5000 and it is kind of funny sometimes sending the same card 2x in the row gets better results, especially if you send it, then wait 2 weeks and send it again.

Before you spend any money on this strategy, you might want to hook up with a local By Referral Only lender who can partner with you on some very effective direct response marketing campaigns targeted to apartment complexes.  I met a guy yesterday who has been using the same campaign for years, targeting a specific apartment complex in his community (can't remember the state).  Does 40 to 50 transactions a year just from this strategy...

Thanks to everyone for your responses.  I have started to look at the websites that you all gave to me, and am impressed.  As a new agent, it is hard to decide wherre to spend your money - and actually get a return on it!

I do have a mortgage broker that I partnered with to do mailings.  I will see if he has companies that he works with, and see if he has an easy way to get addresses for apartment complexes.

Thanks again! Vicki

Good Morning Vicki,

I have heard that VISTAPRINT is great to work with and if they mess things up, they take care of it immediately and they "over deliver" -- which means a lot when it comes to customer satisfaction.  I think I am going to try them and can let you know how they do.  Keep us posted on who you use and how they do too!

I use VistaPrint for my postcards.  I just stock up on them when they offer them free and you only pay S&H.  I have never had a problem with an order from them and they have good customer service.  I also order the white envelopes for the postcards.  It takes a little more time but I have found that I have gotten a better response.  White, handwritten envelopes with a postcard almost look like a greeting card or invitation.  I think that might get a little more attention in a stack of mail.
