"Did You Know . . . Candlewood Lake Is The Largest Lake In Connecticut"?

By
Real Estate Sales Representative with William Raveis Realty

Candlewood Lake is the largest lake in Connecticut and one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States.  The lake has a surface area of 8.4 square miles with 86 miles of shoreline.

Candlewood Lake

There are five towns that surround Candlewood Lake, they are Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford and Sherman.

Candlewood Lake is one of the most popular lakes in the area for boating, fishing(including ice fishing), water-skiing, wake-boarding and jet-skiing.  The lake is the summer social location of the five communities that surround it and also assumes the additional identity of an idyllic weekend escape for many from Manhattan.

Candlewood Lake is immensely popular with year-round residents and weekenders . Owning on a large motorboat-friendly lake within an hour and a half of Manhattan has made Candlewood Lake one of the most attractive lifestyle and investment buys in Western Connecticut. With 60+ miles of shoreline, most of which is residentially developed, Candlewood Lake's 60+ lake communities offer buyers considerable choice in lifestyles, homes, towns, privacy, senses of community, and activities.

Mandy - My husband's grandparents lived Fairfield and he has many fond memories of spending summers on that lake. They lived literally right down the street. Great hyperlocal post!
