Short Sale Disappointment

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams of Northern Colorado

We that deal with Lot's of short sales day to day, listings and buyers know that we are faced with a challenge. If this job was easy there would not be so many dropping out as Real Estate Agents.

I have had the most difficult deal since I have started.

It was hard from the beginning, we got an offer in and then I found out they were behind in everything. I called weekly, kept them informed, begged them to lower their price.

I was on top of everything, so I thought weekly, sometimes two calls a week to the lender. Asking to get the sale date postponed, begging to be assigned a negotiator, and doing all the things I have done many times. I'm a pro right?

Well I was able to get the sale date postponed once, but the second time it did not happen.

We had a good offer, so I thought, and had all that they required turned in on time. It went to sale, my buyers went on to find another home ,not wanting to wait any longer.

I feel I did what should have been done, keeping everyone informed.

This is the first time I have lost a short sale. My record was great! Now I guess it is still good. I don't like to loose,

I feel very sorry for the buyers who stuck with this for 6 months. I would have liked to see them happily rewarded with a new home for their patience.

Oh well, win some loose some. Just keep trying.
