Social Networking: Are you connected?

Services for Real Estate Pros with The Legacy Group

Amazing isn't it? This Social Media wave has quickly turned into a Tsunami...overtaking the Real Estate Industry. I had a friend who was a Real Estate Agent about 5 years ago. I remember when he started to talk about his plan to use MySpace to sell Real Estate. I was a lender hanging out with other people who had been in the business forever, hahaha...we laughed the poor guy out of the room! Keep in mind... at this time I had not even heard of Facebook. I shuttered to think that MySpace could be used to grow a Real Estate business in any way shape or form. At that time, my experience with MySpace was seeing provocative photo's, Mobster game applications, band promotion pages and re-connecting with old high school friends.  He was about 21 at the time and was sharing his plans to a group of almost 30-somethings...yikes!! Looking back at his vision...we were the fools, not him. Wonder where he's at now?

In 2008 NAR(National Association of Realtors) did a benchmark study based on technology. It proved that Blogging was the least used vehicle by agents to stay in touch with their past clients...as a matter it fell dead last, conceding to #1-Email, Snail Mail and Telephone Calls. However...Blogging was the most effective method...actually more effective by approximately 30%.

This was 2 years ago...imagine these statistics today :) The industry has moved this direction already...it's no longer on the horizon...it has arrived.

As a lender I wanted to provide an added service to my referral partners. I offer a Social Networking Program to my clients. A hands on...one-on-one coaching system which tailor fits online networking, blogging and video-blogging to meet your specific goals.

Check it out...and contact me if you are interested in getting more info on this program.

Best regards,

Brooke,  Great information that should get everyone motivated about social networking.  I'm also finding ActiveRain as an excellent part of my networking plan.  It's great to see you posting again on AR.

Is MySpace still around????  I remember when friends my age (40 -/-) who set MySpace pages up.  "What are they thinking??? How old are you tryingto be??"  Regardless, I'm glad we've grown up to Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.  Catch on or Catch up.

What is amazing to me, is how many people in our industry STILL don't do this stuff..but they are busy staring at the phone and wondering why it is not ringing~

Brooke -

It is something to think how social networking came from nothing just a few years back, to where it is now.

Did anyone even use the term back in 2003?  2004?
