I must admit it really wasn't until I saw the Julie and Julia film that I understood the power of the Blog. It's actually amazing to think that people can be so enthralled in what are quite honestly, everyday events. But somehow it's like being let in on a secret - and we all love it. We can chat to virtual strangers and find comraderie and learn something new at the same time. I was inspired by Julie and Julia, I wondered what it would be like to share my life with the world and see if anyone (or how many??) would be interested. I must admit my life raising twin girls was interesting, I wish more than anything blogging was invented twenty years ago. I would have had a movie deal by now and haven't quite decided who would have played my beautiful (now grown) daughters, but I do know it would have been an amazing story. It still is, but that's another blog...
So here I am trying to decide WHAT to blog about when it comes to real estate. Do people want to get a play by play on the Market? Do you want to hear about other buyers and sellers and what they experience on their journey buying or selling a home? Or maybe a day in the life of a real estate agent in Oakville? That might just make for an interesting blog! Contrary to popular belief it is a very challenging career and for the most part I think the general public has no real idea of what to expect from an agent. As a result, many people put up with a lot of crap - realtors who make promises they don't keep or are much less experienced and capable than they let on. For those I apologize, but for the rest of us, we do work hard and that "big fat commission cheque" comes after investing a lot of time and money in our business. Those cheques don't come everyday and when they do, it is because we've earned them. So maybe that's what I'll blog about a day, a week... a month in the life of a realtor. Let's call it a work in progress - I've never been short on words, but this blogging thing....it's still new to me! Happy Friday!
