The year in real estate..... The numbers are in for Waukesha County Wisconsin Real Estate sold for the year 2009.

Waukesha County Wisconsin has seen the housing inventory reduced this year over the past 2 years. The prices are also coming in lower. The 2009 numbers for Waukesha county sold homes are down compared to the last 2 years sales.

The first time buyers were rushing to get their deals done before the deadline of November 30th to receive up to $8,000 in tax credit money. With that in mind, the numbers for November were up, the balance of the year were down.

3708 sold homes in Waukesha County  with a median price of $228,000 (down from $240,000 in 2008). This is a reflection of the strong first time buyer numbers. For the year - the sales in Waukesha County  were down just a bit from total sale last year, this year to date the sales are 3708  Total... (3748 in 2008).  Again I believe this is a reflection of the price range that is selling - the affordable homes for first time buyers.

The Inventory for Waukesha County real estate is 8193 homes,  this number is Down  from inventory of 8435 in 2008.  This is a great time to purchase!  You would have a better selection than in many years past. 

The average days to sell a home in Waukesha County was 101 in 2009.   Sellers received 92.1% of their asking price.

the $8,000 tax credit was extended to first-time home buyers who purchase a home between November 7, 2009 and April 30, 2010. In addition, a $6,500 credit is available for current homeowners who have owned and used the same home as a principal or primary residence for at least five consecutive years of the last eight years and who purchase a new home as a primary residence by April 30, 2010.
