Hi Everybody-I wanted to share with you the latest on our collections for Haiti. We have collected at a local grocery store on Thursday from 4-7 and collected 5 gaylord boxes(pic right) full of product which we boxed up Friday morning.
Yesterday and today we are collecting at Sam's Club and yesterday at Sam's we got two tractor-trailer loads(about 40 pallets) worth of supplies. We had about 25 volunteers this morning and by noon we had boxed and palletized everything. AMAZING!!!!!
We will without a doubt have another tractor trailer load worth of stuff by days end plus we are collecting tomorrow morning at church. With the monetary donations on Friday it helped purchase 550,000 meals through one of our partnering organizations working in Haiti. This weekend, these meals will be distributed.
Hundreds of churches across America are collecting supplies in the next two weeks for our efforts in Haiti. And thanks to partnering industries, here is the committed list of new product donations currently on its way to our warehouse:
5 loads of medical supplies | 2 loads of water | 2 loads of personal care products | 4 loads of clothing | 5 loads of shoes | 1 load of linens | Multiple loads of furniture
We will be receiving the above shipments from across the U.S. in the next week. While all this will be a lot of work it is very exciting to be in the middle of all this flurry of activity and to know it is going to help those folks in Haiti who have suffered such a major disaster. The outpouring of supplies, money, volunteer help both at the warehouse and at the collection sites is simply incredible. We also are collecting at two ball games this afternoon.
I had my little vacation of sorts at the end of the year and was back to one job. Now with this and the phones ringing off the hook and donations coming in from all over. Friday I was officially back to paid work. I worked Friday and this morning and will be taking the monetary donations at church in the morning and then working again all next week and probably the weekend as well.
Probably without a doubt as long as the donations keep coming in I will be working. I feel very blessed to be able to help out and feel very blessed that I not only have one job I love but two. It is wonderful. Before we starting unpacking and packing supplies I took some pics of our warehouse loaded to the rafters with supplies that have been donated. Below is some of the pics. They even donated 2 brand new generators from our Sam's collection.
We received 44 pallets of J Crew clothing. Sweats, t-shirts etc plus several pallets of water.

I think we will have our work cut out for us the next two weeks and most likely even longer. I will keep you updated as we go. It is truly amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it.
