How can you customize your Outside Blog?

I just "bought in" to the active rain outside blog deal.  I am wondering if I made the right choice.  When I look at my blog page it does not even have my email address on it?  There does not seem to even be a way to add my fax number.  I guess this post is just a Post of frustration.  I thought that a fully optimized outside blog would have a little more to it.  Or am I missing the boat.  I hope that I am!  Otherwise $19.99 is flying away as another lesson learned!

Nyles, is that a monthly fee? I haven't bit the bullet yet...

Nyles, if you can't figure it out, call one of the AR staffers, like Brad Andersohn, they are awesome and will help you out no problem.

You did not make a mistake. If you want your posts out to the public, you have to have an outside blog. And it works, I can tell you for a fact it works. Just pay attention to what those who know are telling you to do, post often, comment on peoples posts often, you google milk (most call it juice, I call it milk) will be flowing in no time. I do suggest you post more often if you want to get more rankings out of it.

Thanks BethAnn: The editing seems to be limited.  I really need to read more about the outside blog. . .

Don:  The fee is $19.99/mo

Andrea: Thanks for the tip.  I will have to look up Brad. I did not know you could talk to the Rain Gods. I thought that you could only give posts as offerings. . .  I could really use some tutoring on the outside blog.  I used to get a lot of juice just on active rain.  Then it all seemed to slow down when the outside blog became an auction.  The cynical me says that it was no coincidence.  Regardless, I miss the juice and I need to get my info out there.  I do a some more specialized work like short sales, representing Buyers of REO property and I do some foreclosure work as well.  I just want to customize my blog as much as possible. Knowledge is power - I will seek those in the know and I will keep reading my fellow ARers' blogs.

Wow! I'm glad I read this post.  I think I'm paying $29.99.  Gotta check on that.

Nyles,

I'm new to the active rain world but it sounds to me that you are trying to create "a presence"by blogging. Another way to create a broader presence in your market is to work on your branding techniques.

It seems everyone has nice cards, websites, graphics etc. but did you know that 99% of real-estate proffessionals still send plain text emails...

My partner & I recently created a site specifically for Realtors that enables them to create that professional image their looking for with every email they send...

It may be a real eye opener for you... check it out at www.ezproemail.com

Let me know your thoughts!

Nyles ~ I like AR, but would agree that the customization on the outside blog is limited, unless you know html.  I too am paying the $19. a mo., but am looking into WordPress and Blogspot.
