San Francisco Properties January 2010
The San Francisco property market is heating up. There are currently over 1800 listings on the market in San Francisco. Many of these listings are sitting on the market longer and sell for less than the listing price.
Even the San Francisco real estate market is affected by pre-foreclosure and foreclosure activity. And that is true for all San Francisco neighborhoods from Pacific Heights, to Presidio Heights, the Sunset and Richmond Districts, Haight Ashbury, Noe Valley, SOMA, Potrero Hill, to the Bayview District and Visitacion Valley.
Some of these neighborhoods remain more desirable than others. As one luxury real estate agent in San Francisco once said in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, 'everything north of California Street is desirable.' Since that interview the area has expanded, but selling property is about to move into the 21st century to represent clients in a more effective manner than ever.
More foreclosures are coming. The banks and various articles in the New York Times are the best sources for that assessment.
