Green Bag Project

By
Real Estate Agent with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc

                        Farming for Food

I thought other Real Estate agents would find this interesting and may want to participate.  The Green Bag Project is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to organize food drives and neighborhood food collections, in partnership with local food banks, for distribution to those in need. You can gain "Recognition" as the number 1 real estate professional in your farming area by using the "Green Bags" in your farms to produce food assistance for your local food banks. I think this is a great opportunity to help those in need while you do what you already do.

Dropping off the "Green Bags" to the front door of each home in your farming area once every (3) three months will help families in serious need of food assistance.

You can include a cover sheet on each bag that will explain the food drive program and also your picture and information to explain that you are providing the oversight for this very worthy project. Put your business card in the bag, as well as, any marketing materials you want. You can use your farming activities to help those in need in your community while marketing yourself to the community. Your cost is limited to purchasing the bags at the organization's cost plus shipping expenses.

In addition to using the "Green Bags" in your residential farming area you can also reach out to local office centers, corporations and houses of worship.

This sounds like a great way to get exposed to the neighborhoods you want to specialize in. Thanks for pointing this out.

Laura & Bob...thanks for the comments.  This is a great idea and I hope many agents think about the concept.  Feel free to re-blog if you're interested.  I would love to get the concept out to as many agents as possible.
