I have egg on my face now, and all those who were thinking of rushing out here to visit, hang on!! 
I can take snow. I can heat. I can take winds. I can take the odd earthquake or two.
What I can't take is RAIN! If I wanted rain I would move back to the U.K.
And I think our MLS got wet. I haven't seen such little activity as got today for a long time bar Christmas Day.
We are due for two more heavy storms and 6" of rain this week.

Jane, I remember the song well :) I also remember being in your sunny area and having a day of rain. Someone was kind enough to tell us that since no one is used to rain there it seems there are many more car accidents! I hope the sun shines for you!!
Jane...i'm sorry the rainy weather is causing a slowdown in your activity----but your rain is turning into lots of snow for our area! Just kidding, this moisture is great and will be gone soon enough.

Carole, yep, people can't drive in the rain and the roads have an oil film on them that gets slippery when wet. You have to drive very defensively.
Carra, so glad we could oblige. It is amazing here. When it rains people just try not to go out. Life as we know it ends :)
Hi Jane! Well, now you've got me singing the song--who knows just how long it will linger! As for weather--I'd MUCH rather it be cold but, then when it's cold, I'd much rather have the white, fluffy stuff if we're going to have to endure the COLD! I guess the grass is ALWAYS greener!!

That's funny Jane. My best friend's sons were here in Birmingham for their brother's funeral a couple of months ago and I remember them complaining about how long it had been since they had seen rain. I hope you see the rainbow.
