Roy's Spanish DinnerRoy's has long been one of Maui's favorite restaurants, and has grown to be a national phenomenon celebrating pan-pacific cuisine.  In fact, this past Saturday, they celebrated 18 years in the Kahana, Maui location with a special dinner, The Food and Wine of Spain.  I happened to be there, and Chef Joey Macadangdang, shared one of the dishes with me: Croquets de Jamon Serrano.  The other dishes sounded wonderful: Grilled Kauai Shrimp with red onion and oranges, Poached Akule and Preserved Lemon, and more.

On February 6th, Roy's will open its doors again for the Black Tie and Slippers Gala to benefit Imua Family Services.  Providing much needed assistance to children with developmental delays and support for their families, Imua Family Services has been serving Maui since 1947.

The Gala will honor Mike Moynahan and celebrate the work of Imua Family Services.  There will be special entertainment by Grammy Award nominee Amy Hanaiali'i and a live auction

When: Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 5:30-9:30 pm
Where: Roy's Kahana

I love Roy's because their food is always good.  One time we were at the Kahana location and Roy Yamaguchi walked out looked at me, patted his stomach and said "Wow that was good!  Wish I owned the place!"  Funny guy.
