The Autistic Photography of Noah E. Starr: Holy Cow Playground From The Eyes Of A Child

TLW, this is for you. Your grand-minions send their love, hugs and kisses. We hope to see you in February. I gave Noah my Nikon today and let the boys play TomTom and Photographer. We didn't have far to go. They made a bee line for one of their fave spots and I had a wonderful time watching Noah explore with the camera. He's going to make a wonderful photographer. Stephen was a pip. He kept shooting the ground (LOL). I took some cell phone videos of him working with the camera and will post my thoughts about that later.

LOL @ Rebecca. Shorty with the grin is Stephen, the Minion Blur. Noah was behind the camera and actually got a few shots off with Step still in the frame. That was fun to watch. Little bro is quick on his feet. He likes to run, dance and skip all over and didn't pause for his close up (LOL). :-)

Lindsey, the eyes of a child really are a blessing. My guy pies don't talk as much as their peers but they are making progress. The cool thing about handing them my cameras is what they choose to focus on. Noah will walk around looking through the viewfinder at everything before finally taking a shot. Sometimes he walks forward and backwards because he doesn't want to use the zoom, so he positions himself as a manual zoom to take the shot (LOL).

Debe, the boys are a lot of fun and love electronics. I really think Noah is going to be great at photography. He's totally into it. Stephen leans more towards video but he loves looking at pictures. :-)

Connie, I have them convinced they are mini-Realtors in training (LOL). They are embracing music and art as well and Noah lives for YouTube. I am having a lot of fun watching them explore and document their fave places. They enjoy seeing themselves and the neighborhoods they know on-line.

Laurie, I shall compliment the wee people on your behalf. Thank you. :-)

Jane, I remember wondering what the heck he was obsessed about because he kept walking in circles (LOL). I didn't even realize it was there until I saw the shots. I remember thinking what a neat off centered visual. I like the colors... They both like patterns and textures and Noah seems very aware of the play of shadows. I have 37 pics from him and he spent quite a bit of time shooting objects forming shadows. If it is nice tomorrow I am going to take them out again and see what they decide to photograph. :-)

C, he is a photographer already. Perhaps you he should be selling these! I readily admit to knowing nothing about autism, you have clearly found things that not only are fun for him, but that he is truly talented in.

C, Some of those photos are better then mine!  What a wonderful thing to teach the children!  I think I was always so afraid of my kids dropping the camera it's the one thing I didn't allow them to do :(

We just got back from a massive eye candy hunt. The boys and I ran the streets for 4 hours. Will recap my day later, then will make another Localism post with Noah's new shots of Cunningham Park. They are really quite lovely. I filmed him doing this shoot as well. I need to get to Facebook and post some video so I can embed it here. :-)
