I remember when I lived back in New York State the state fair took place in the summer. Not many people wanted to be wandering from booth to booth in the middle of February up there. Wonder why????

Well, here in the Sunshine State, February holds little fear for us with its moderate temperatures and lots of sunlight to keep us from getting the winter blues.

This year our Florida State Fair will take place from February 4th to the 15th at the fairgrounds located at: 4800 US Highway 301 North on the east side of Tampa. You can get driving instructions by clicking on the following link: How to Get to the Fair

Some of the events that will be offered at this year fair are:

  • Antique Displays
  • Youth Photography & Art Expo
  • Crafts
  • Horticulture
  • Baton Twirling
  • and many more, too numerous to list

In addition here are some of the entertainment events that will take place:

  • Helicopter Rides
  • Family-Friendly Midway
  • Florida Arts & Craft Show
  • Frog Jumping Championship
  • World Village & International Talent Stage
  • Lots of amusement rides
  • And MORE!

Trust me, there is a lot, LOT more that will be taking place at the fair. For full details, click on the following link: Florida State Fair Information  Explore this site to get a true taste of what will be available to you. If you are retired, you may want to attend while the schools are in session thus making the fairgrounds a bit less crowded.

Senior Discount Days (55+) are the 9th, 10th, and 11th. On the 11th Veterans get into the fair FREE after 4 PM. Click on the hyperlink above to confirm this and other discount admission information.

In any case, this is a great way to spend a day here in Florida! So get out there and take part in all that our Florida State Fair has to offer you.
