FAMILY & FRIENDS – So important
As several of you know, my sister adopted 11 years ago. It has turned out to be a wonderful story. It started with the fact that my sister couldn't have kids, well, that is what several specialists had said from all over. So my sister and brother-in-law decided to adopt. They were actually approved to adopt up to 3 kids at once and this took place in Kazakhstan. They adopted a boy and girl, Katerina and Johnny. Well, when they came back after about a solid month in Kazakhstan, because of their adoption process, my sister found out that she was pregnant. So about 7 months later, she had Andrew. After about a year, thinking about my niece being a lonely girl, surrounded by 2 boys, they decided to adopt a girl. They named her Alisha.
Now, about 4 years have passed and I get a phone call one night from my mom. "Hey Jeff, are you sitting down." I had thought something bad had happened to one of the kids. My mom then says, "your sister is pregnant." Okay, so it's another kid... NOPE... My mom says, try again.. TWINS... At birth, they were blessed with a boy and a girl, Joey and Ava.....
So today, it was spent with 4 of my 6 nieces and nephews, yet I will be spending a few hours with the twins tomorrow. This morning was started out with watching my nephew Johnny playing basketball.
Here is my nephew Johnny, # 32, playing some defense for his school's basket basketball team.
Boy Scouts of America
Here is the starting gate for the cars. Johnny's car is 2nd from the right... boy, have things changed. When I did this as a kid, we had a wooden track, not metal.
Here is Johnny, with his handsome smile, waiting for the first race to start. He did much better this year, finishing 2nd in his heat and about 6th overall, out of 13 or so in his Pack. Way to go Johnny!!!!
Johnny's car is the red one... and he made it as a theme of the Philadelphia Phillies. Go Phillies in 2010.
Here is Johnny with his trophy for most enthusiastic Webelis during the races.
Here is Johnny and his sister Alisha. Aren't they cute...
Here is a picture taken from last years Pinewood Derby. Brothers Andrew and Johnny. I included this picture because Andrew was sick and didn't feel like participating in the Derby last minute.
Lastly.... here is Joey and Ava, the evil Twins... lol TEASING.. they are so much fun. I am including this picture from around Christmas time, because they weren't at the Pinewood Derby. I will be hanging out with them tomorrow. And I didn't capture the oldest, Katerina, because she was running around the gymnasium.
Overall, they are all very good kids. Very polite, nice, fun.... and their Uncle Jeff loves hanging around them.. Thanks..
