When most people think of southern Nevada, they think of the Las Vegas Strip or our sunny, desert landscape surrounded by colorful mountains. Today, over 1000 property owners share a new vision - Lake Las Vegas Resort, a 3,592-acre master-planned community in Henderson, Nevada.
Development of Lake Las Vegas began in 1987 with construction of a dam to divert water from the Las Vegas Wash into a 320-acre lake with 10 miles of shoreline. SouthShore Golf Club, a private Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, opened in 1995. One year later the first residents moved into SouthShore.
Since then, Lake Las Vegas Resort's residential offerings have grown to include waterfront villas, single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Prices range from the 300's to over $4 million.
MonteLago Village provides residents and guests with a shopping and dining experience reminiscent of an old-world Italian lakeside village. It is a central gathering point, and features cultural and food festivals, concerts on a floating stage (including LeAnn Rimes, Glenn Frey, Natalie Cole and Andrea Bocelli), and holiday celebrations. The community is also home to two world-class hotels: the AAA Five Diamond The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas and the AAA Four Diamond Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas.
In addition to the SouthShore Golf Club, there is another Jack Nicklaus course, Reflection Bay, and the Tom Weiskopf-designed The Falls. The courses host the Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge each November. Water enthusiasts can enjoy the 17,000 square foot Yacht and Beach Clubhouse with a fitness center, a white sand beach, outdoor pool and spa, two tennis courts and a picnic and lawn area.
