The 13th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count

February 12-15, 2010

The annual count will take place this year February 12 - 15, 2010.  The GBBC is hosted by The National Audubon Society & Cornell Lab of Ornithology.  The count is a free, educational, and a fun activity for people of all ages and all levels of bird-watching experience.  It's a great opportunity to learn more about the birds in your own backyard and an opportunity to get outside and connect with nature.  Last year, participants submitted a record-breaking 94,165 checklists and observed 620 species of birds.  After at least 15 minutes of watching in one place, you report your results online at www.birdcount.org. You can also submit your digital images of birds - or GBBC participants -  to the online gallery at www.birdcount.org.
