East Bay High Schools Among Nation’s Top

According to the U.S. News & World Report’s recent America’s Best High School ranking, East Bay high schools are ranked with the top.  These rankings analyzed 21,000 public schools in collaboration with School Evaluation Services, a business run by Standard & Poor’s.  The top 100 schools were put in the gold category, with 468 in the silver category and 1,189 receiving bronze.

In the East Bay, gold ranking winners were given to Campolindo High in Moraga, Miramonte High in Orinda, Mission San Jose High in Fremont, and Piedmont High in Piedmont.  High schools ranking silver in the East Bay were Acalanes High School in Lafayette, Lionel Wilson College Preparatory Acedemy in Oakland, Amador Valley High and Foothill High in Pleasanton, California High in San Ramon and Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley High schools in Danville.

The rankings are based on the principles that a great high school must serve all its students well, not just those headed to college, and that it must be able to produce measurable academic outcome to show it is successful in educating its student body across a range of performance indicators.
