Psst here is a little hint about using the Channels on the ActiveRain Real Estate Network to YOUR advantage and Real Livings. Look at the Channels on the front page (reproduced above.) The professional Channels are in blue on the right side. Telling the real estate industry about the merger and rebranding use a professional channel. When you are talking to consumers use one of the Yellow channels if you are an ActiveRain Rainmaker.
When you post content to ActiveRain you have to pick a channel. Most people choose ActiveRain as the Channel. The ActiveRain channel is described as:
"The ActiveRain Channel is the channel for all things ActiveRain, including the use and tutorials for the site, announcements, reminders and deployment of the next big thing. "
Announcements about Real Living usually are not about ActiveRain. Are they? They are about a real estate event....
Announcements about this merger are about the real estate industry... Looking at the professional channels I think they are about Networking... ActiveRain describes the Networking Channel as:
"The Networking Channel is the channel for expanding your professional sphere and linking with contacts in the real estate business."
Want your post about the Real Living merger hot wired to the search engines? Use Networking for your channel and Industry Events as your topic. Spelling counts, don't say Industry Event it has to be Industry Events (plural.) The way it shows on the Channels and Topics on the first page of ActiveRain. Use that topic and you will be one link away from the first page on ActiveRain.
If you have a Rainmaker account (able to post publicly ) use one of the three Topics shown on page one of ActiveRain under each Channel whenever possible. The page is one page from the front page.

Mosly it is just a junk drawer. Not the best or easiest place for people to find your content whether it is written to consumers or professionals.
