Marketing in our world is vital but yet can be very costly. I have spent good money after bad on random marketing (some good and some not so good).  I am looking for  new ideas on marketing myself more effectively.  Please share any and all ideas you have.  Thank you,

Ginger Magoon

Not knowing what you are already doing, here are some basic items sometimes are forgotten:

1. Put your picture on everything, brochures, business cards, letterhead and emails.
2. Get a profession photo taken, they pose can be very important-do Internet searches for recommendations
3. Create a logo that signifies you. It may incorporate your photo, signature, name. You want to create your own brand.
4. Embrace technology, email, voice response advertising, video etc.

Good luck

Great smile, closer picture so we can see your honest face...and since you are a realtor trying to sell yourself...put your picture on everything, especially your business cards and leave them everywhere. on bulletinboards at stores, resturants, and coffee shops...give extras to freinds and family so they can give them to friends or co-workers who might need a realtor.

Hi Ginger,

  • Farm a subdivision consistently.
  • Open house your own listings and other agents listings that are in your office.
  • Hand out your business card to at least 100 people per week.
  • Wear your name badge all the time.
  • Try to do floor time as much as possible. Let other agents know you will fill in for them.
  • Prospecting with builders in your market area. Get your foot in the door with them. They will list someday with you.
  • The usually FSBO & Expired.
  • When leaving a tip, leave your business card with a note on the back in regards to how much you like the service and/or food.
  • Volunteer with the your local Park District.
  • Join a local Chamber.
  • Donate to a local charity and get it publicized in the local newspaper.
  • Think outside the box.

Hi Ginger and welcome to the marketing group. A good place to start looking for marketing ideas would be to check out some of the featured member's posts from the past few weeks, here is part 1, part 2 and part 3. It's a good place to start, hope it helps you.

Hi Ginger...What are you doing now?  I think it's important to identify what is different and special about you and clearly define your niche in one sentence before you even begin to think about expanding marketing.  I think that is one mistake people make is they market to the world..when marketing to a specific group is much more effective.

I suggest you first develop a plan as to who you want to market to.  Marketing to first time home owners is much different than marketing to owners of high-end properties.

After you figure out the whos the hows seem to come a little easier.

Good luck!

I agree with all of the above but I did not see anyone suggest a professional web site. I suggest Top Producer's web site and their integrated contact management tools.
