The home is beautifully staged" reads a glowing description on an Abilene Board of Realtors MLS listing.

The recent monthly issue of the online portion of the Realtor magazine features an Accredited Staging Professional and Realtor with a five minute video clip.

Barb Schwarz's website, www.stagedhomes.com now features only staged homes for sale.

Yes,  staging seems to be everywhere!

I was in the Lowes store the other day and there was a book on home staging and I can't believe I paid full price for it.  I never, never pay full price for a book,  but I did for this one!  The title is Staged to Sell (or Keep) (I'm still trying to decide if I should keep it. Maybe I will for the pictures, but some of the rooms are a little too busy, for me. That may be because I am in too stretching the staging dollar to cover the most space and most people living in a home are into collecting things.

Barb Schwarz credited with the creation of home staging and www.stagedhomes.com will be in Dallas 2/16/2010 to 02/19/2010 for a 2 or 3 day staging course. The  2 day course for Realtors to be an ASP Realtor is down to only $245 with the $50 discount, which is offered until January 31st.  Go to www.stagedhomes.com for more information and to register.  In Texas, this 2 day course also provides 6 CEU's.

Abilene has two staged homes and soon to come photos of a  home in Tuscola, a few miles south of Abilene.

Here's a staged home with a warm and cozy family fireplace in a wonderful Abilene neighborhood  at 909 Blair.

We've been staging to sell in California for years, but then again, the headquarters for StagedHomes.com is local.

Stagging does make a home more appealing, but it doesn't over come defects or unreasonable list prices. It sure helps in a vacant home!

Staging always helps...too bad I can't get the REO Asset Managers to stage their assets

Great pic. Staging is an art now. It's come of age and made great strides.

We may have not used the term 'staging' but agents have always given tips to sellers on how to stage the house. One reason new construction sells is the model homes are staged .

Beverly,

You are so right!!!  I am getting so many calls from Sellers...Homeowners that are more savvy and realize their home has to stand out above the rest of the competition in order to sell quicker and for more money.

Staging®: It's all about showcasing the property!  Not to worry if it looks a little sparse or the furniture isn't brand new.  Buyers need to see and feel how the home will be furnished...they need to be able to mentally move in.  They are not buying the existing furniture, but they will understand the scale of the room.  We stage with what the sellers already own.  90% of the time it is fine.  Sometimes fresh towels or bedding is all the investment necessary, but definitely the number one thing is removing the current owner by depersonalizing the house.  Buyers will mentally move in if there are not personal photos to connect with the sellers.  Staging = Success!

Vickie,  staging has taken awhile to heat up in Texas and Barb Schwarz will be in Texas training next week!

Douglas, staging does help, not so sure about "stagging"  LOL.

Ray, David, and Linda  - I agree with you all.  Staging is where it is at!

Stacey thanks for the comment.  I was interested in that you find t hat the sellers furniture is okay 90 percent of the time.  I find t hat sometimes there is just too much furniture or too heavy furniture or rearrangement does wonders!

Home Staging has become very popular, I believe in part because it is difficult to sell homes in today's market and the sellers have begun to listen to ideas to help these homes sell.
