It's Brand New...Why do I need a Home Inspection?

Just because it's new, it doesn't mean everything was done correctly.  A recent pre-listing inspection on a 900K home discovered so many issues the home inspector got writer's cramp.  How about the gas not being connected to the furnace in the attic, or for that matter, the vent pipes not being installed.  The holes had been cut in the roof, then promptly tiled over without the vents being installed.  According to the Home Inspector we work with, he discovers items needing attention on 19 out of 20 "New Construction" homes.  It's great that there is a builders warranty - but that doesn't help much AFTER the roof leaks onto an irreplaceable whatever it is...
