This is different because although it takes very little effort on your part it does take time and patience to reap the maximum reward. Not every great money making idea comes with instant gratification.
So, why am I writing to you about this today? Well, for a couple reasons:
1. Statistics show that home break-ins are at an all time high... and that when the economy looks like it does now, theft rises.
2. We need to get back focused on THE FUNDAMENTALS of doing business!
John Wooden, Hall of Fame UCLA Coach, used to have his team drill the fundamentals daily...until they became boring.
He insisted on ignoring the competition (I don't), but his point was that if we do what we are supposed to do...then we will win.
In business, I find that most owners are focused too much on the outside. Too distracted...having meaningless meetings, lunches, and doing things that don't support the fundamentals of creating a nice profit.
Those fundamentals are:
1. Find Motivated Seller that Must (not need to) seller their home.
2. Get those homes listed with us.
3. Once we have the listing, work with the seller to get it priced right so it will sell.
4. Work with only the buyers that are highly motivated and will buy a home quickly.
Obviously finding motivated sellers is more important than ever. But, if it were easy...everyone would be doing it. Listing Expireds, FSBOs, and Pre-Foreclosures is how you do that. I got two listing appointments today that I had to turn down because the sellers weren’t motivated at all. It’s easy to get the appointments, but you’ve got to take more listings today to get the same number of sales as before.
We (you and I) are going to make the next year and beyond our best year ever.
