The Skyway Austin is a new development just off South 5th Street, around 3 miles South of the Capitol. It offers 56 single family homes with 2 or 3 bedrooms in the $270-$350,000 range. The homes are popular competition for buyers considering a home at Mueller, where for the same price you can get a 2-3 bedroom townhome, or a 3 bedroom single family home a similar distance from downtown Austin.
The homes are notionally duplexes - they are connected in pairs by a simple metal trellis, though they really are free standing houses, with no other common elements. Some of the details I like about the homes are the locally sourced, hand-made wrought iron house numbers, and the mosaic glass tile backsplash which comes as standard in the kitchen.
I took a few videos of homes at The Skyway Austin, and the general area - homes are available for move in over the coming months along Corbin Lane - which also offers lots backing to the greenbelt. I think in one video I mistakenly call the homes condos, and imply the green belt is facing the homes, so I apologize for any confusion that may cause - it was way after lunch time and my blood sugar was low.
Check out a few of these videos and let me know what you think!
