Vacation Time?

Vacation Time

A Realtor asked me to do a commissioned painting for her that she could give to a friend as a gift. The Realtor gave me some photos of a sailing trip they took to the South Pacific and requested I use them to create a memorable piece for her sailing buddy. This is the resulting 15" by 30" painting. What was really kind of fun was that after she saw the painting and paid me, she said she was thinking of keeping it for herself.

Someone told me once that when times get tough, maybe it's time to treat yourself to a vacation, even if you think you can't afford it. Life is short. It may just turn your spirit around. We all need some joy. Is it time for a vacation?

Frank- Obviously you are multi-talented!  That is a beautiful picture.  Thanks for sharing your Art- and for the Inspiration!! -taking a vacation?!  What is that?  Thanks for the reminder that we must have "balance" all work and no play is not a good thing!

Hi Kelly and Vickie . . . you both got it right . . . balance is critical. You don't have to go to the South Pacific. Maybe just the little town not too far away and talk to some new people . . . a change of perspective. Thank you both for stopping by.

Terry . . . it is exciting to think you are taking off in just a couple of days . . . have the best time of your life!

Myrl . . . just close your eyes and "see" yourself on the beach or in the boat, whatever is more comfortable . . .

Diane . . . a ruler is a good place to start . . . then you ditch it and just have fun!

Wow Frank this is beautiful - ahhhhhhh - makes me relax on a Friday night without being on vacation.  It's great to know you're an artist as well. I look forward to seeing more of your paintings...do you have a website for them?

Frank, beautiful...you should set up shop in a fancy beach resort selling high end commissioned paintings.  Anyway, I thought I was going to get a chance for a vacation over the winter but things are picking up and well...I think you know the end to that story.

Hi Frank, When times get tough, if they ever do for you, you have a real talent that should provide very well for you. Love the photo interpretation in the painting.

Hi Anna, I've been working on a site, but with real estate heating up . . . not much time for that now.

Be glad to do stick people with you Bill, but I think you are being a bit modest . . . fishing and art . . . pretty similar.

Sorry you didn't get the vacation Nick, but when business is good, you gotta go with it.

Thanks William, I really need a camera like the one you're using.
