It's Snowing in Franklin TN

It's snowing in Franklin TN.  Having grown up in the Chicago area, driving in snow is nothing new to me.Franklin TN  In Chicago, they often get 6 - 12 inches or more when it snows.  Because they get so much snow, the state is prepared to handle the conditions of the roads. There are plow trucks out right away, plowing and salting roads.

Living in the south, however, is a different story. Tennessee doesn't have plows and don't salt the roads.  Even a little bit of snow can be a problem.

Case in point, I left my office today at 1:15.  I only live about 10 miles away.  It usually takes me about 17 minutes to get home.  Today, I walked in the door at 2:57.  It took me almost an hour and 45 minutes to drive 10 miles.

This is the traffic I encountered.  If you don't absolutely have to go out, don't.  The roads are a mess, the traffic is heavy and accidents abound.  Stay home, watch a movie and play board games with your kids.

It's a well known fact that Southerners don't know how to drive in the snow. :D Love the pic. Brings back fond memories of the last time it snowed here. :)

Central VA is to get 4 to 7 inches.  No snow yet; however, my dogs fur is wet so something is falling.

I have coffee, diet pepsi, tuna and dog food and I don't need to leave the house until Monday!!!

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

Oh my Tammie, I had no idea when you left the office it would take so long for you to make it home.  Glad you are home safely anyway.

Hopefully the long commute was mostly a result of people slowing down and not accidents. This will be a good weekend to build a fire and relax around the house.

Yikes!  It looked scary out there (I wasn't about to venture out).  Now that there's ice on top of it, I think I'll stay put for a few days.  Stay safe!

I think most of the traffic was due to every business in the retail area closing down.  I was happy to be home and now I'm hunkered down until the ice melts off the roads.

You have traffic too?  Ours is ridiculous, especially in bad weather.
