I'm not a Democrat, But

I was impressed and somewhat sympathetic with the President after his give and take with Republican leaders at their Republican retreat today.  Just days after a Bla Bla Bla State Of The Union Address he jump right into what most Democrats would consider the Lion's den. After the initial niceties the Republican leaders took their shots with the President volleying right back. To plagiarize and abuse a famous quote by C.S. Lewis "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -- on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg -- or else he would be the Devil of Hell."  Now the President is certainly no savior and I not convinced he's the devil  so, the guy is either  genuinely wanting to make thing better for Americans or he is a Bald Face, Self-serving, Criminal Liar.  I suppose history will define which he is.  As for my own party I was a little disappointed. Instead of taking a stupendous opportunity to publicly engage the president with by- partisan solutions for our troubled nation they acted no better than their Democratic counter parts by tring to make themselves out to be smarter than the other side. I don't know how to make them all play fair in the sandbox, but until they do I don't see a long term solution to our wows.

John I've been disappointed with both parties and their lack of leadership during this very critical time in American lives.  We need economic policies, we need them to start making banks putting money out there for small business and qualified persons wanting to buy homes.  We need them to work on the properties that are upside down .... there are so many policies that we need to right this perfect storm.  I'm a lifelong Democrat and I'm not sure this is the right President for these times ....

All I can say is do what I do-Pray for President Barack Obama,Democrats,Republicians and the leaders of this nation. Everybody is quick to say this and that but I can bet everything that I owe and more that most of us who are saying that the President is not doing a good job more than likely couldn't do a better than the President. I mean do you really expect the President to fix in one year what took like 8+ years to mess up?

John, There is no doubt the President gives a good speech.  I do believe both parties need to work together and if anything is ever going to get done they have to.  However, I for one do not believe President Obama is the best qualified to get the job done and they all REALLY need to stop spending money.  You can not spend your way out of recession.  If they just would have stayed out of it I believe we would have recovered a lot sooner and for sure less in debt.

Thanks for listening,

I'm not overly Political but, last year was a tough one. It looks like we might get some monies into the hands of the little banks and I hope it helps.  I do pray for the lot of them and I didn't vote for the President but, I'm stuck with him for 3 more years. So I'll continue to pray for wisdom for him.

An opinion from an Independent -- President Obama is sincere and smart and he will get the job done. Not overnight, of course. But he'll get it done. And he'll get as much bi-partisan cooperation s is humanly possible. That's what I like about him. The current enormous political divide in our country is not serving us well.

Wow and there are still people that believe he is changing things. As a life long democrat, i will probably switch to independent. Neither side can get along and never will as long as we do not have term limits. Why would they it is only self serving that they get nothing done.

Congress is leading Obama around like a puppet and dragging him right down with them. Even in one year I would hope he would have accomplished something. But he clearly hasn't, he couldn't get health care passed, no new jobs, even the ones he manage to save are government jobs, like we need a few more eating at that trough, Gitmo is still open, although he manage to bring the sucide people here on American soil, Iran and Korea is still laughing at us, hell he couldn't even get the Olympics to Chicago and that would have been the simpliest.
