Wouldn't It Be Nice - The Beachboys - Rings True Even Today

We are all so eager for this economy to be fixed. We want things to be the way they were in 2005 through 2007. But The Beachboy song, "Wouldn't It Be Nice" rings in my ears and resonates in my brain.

Quick fixes are seldom possible. Bush was at fault for everything. Now the tide has turned and Obama is blamed.

Let's think before we accuse. Let's analyze the trade-offs between government stimulus and allowing the natural laws of equilibrium and market forces to play their roles.

Jeff, I think part of the reason why things are broken today is because things were so nice from 2005 to 2007. We have policies in place that delay disruptions, but when they finally hit us they come as huge amalgamated disasters.

It is true that letting the economy move through this problem and it would have been finished by now. Now, we think we can control and borrow money to make a soft landing. I hope it works or it could be a crash landing.
