Re run to saturday mornings as a kid,  Hi yo, Silver, away

"...  today is the birthday of The Lone Ranger (1933)? The
famous radio western ran for 2,956 episodes and came to an end
in 1955. It was Brace Beemer who is best remembered as former
Texas Ranger, John Reid. He played the part of the
black-masked ranger, fighting for frontier justice, for
13 consecutive years." Hi yo, Silver, away.

Some things just age a person, I can remember both the radio and TV show, oh well.

Brenda...really brings back memories:  my Dad had some actual theater movie reels of his movies [plus Roy Rogers & Trigger & Tom Mix], but when house was sold-ALL were missing. Don't know how or when--but really wanted to secure them as i was executor of Estate. I still say one of the 3 sons absconded with them--all denied, but you know Brothers, LOL

I loved the Lone Ranger when I was growing up.  And Mike Sparks picture reminds me of Rin Tin Tin.

Thanks for the memories.

Clayton Moore was The Lone Ranger on TV and in his later years, the Lone Ranger restaurant chain made him take off the mask in his personal appearances so he had to wear large black sunglasses.

It's hard to believe it could have been that many years ago.  I can remember watching Lone Ranger episodes each and every Saturday afternoon at a local movie theater when I was a kid.  Imagine having an admittance ticket costing me just 14 cents.  LIfe moves faster than smoke through a keyhole.
