Short Sales are here to stay for a while

Is there any agent out there who has not dealt with a short sale yet? I would be surprised to hear if there is anyone who hasn't at this point. The real question should be, how successful have you been with them?

Dealing with the lender(s) can be extremely maddening, and you can feel like it is all a waste of time. I recently closed a short sale listing, and my clients were so grateful to finally have that resolved that it was worth it. Yes, it can take extra effort on the agent's part, but hey, in this day and age if you are not willing to put extra effort in to make a sale, you may as well turn in your license.

New tools are available to help you get and manage your short sale listings - aside from the paid negotiators which sometimes are not worth the money paid to them. My most favorite recent find is a pre-qualification of a short sale situation. I can't wait to try it out. Who wouldn't like to know before taking the listing if it has a chance in h*** to get approval? Wouldn't you like to know how long you can expect an approval to take or if you should just run away! I sure would. Visit this website for more information and look for the link to the PreQual Form page: www.mrseducation.com. And if you have tried out this pre-qual service, let me know how it worked out.

And if you are one of those few agents who have vowed to never touch a short sale again, please refer those listings my way for Woodinville, Snohomish, Monroe, and the Sky Valley area of Washington State!

Thanks!

Brenda, I'm afraid you're right.  I try to avoid them like the plague, however, at least on the buy side.

Hi Brenda ~ thank you for your post and the link, I will check it out.  I have not done a short sale yet but yes, they are so common now.  I definitely want all the tools available to me to feel prepared!
