You Must Act! Success Leaves Clues – Learn From Others Who Have Been There

Real Estate Agent with Ask4Ferguson - Your House-SOLD Name in Real Estate

Waking up every day and doing what I was called to do feels like a blessing.  I absolutely love the feeling of being able to give people excellent service and help them Achieve the Dream of Home Ownership.

The feeling started immediately 1998 when I first started in the Real Estate business in the Metro Detroit area.  I was super motivated young and ‘dumb’ but eager to learn.

There seemed like there were about a million ways to approach business.  I would sit there and analyze each and every one to the point of exhaustion.  I picked the brains of every experienced agent in my office, each had their own separate techniques and ways to of doing business, but one thing they all have in common is they ACTED!  They took action and were busy prospecting and attracting business.  There’s an old saying you can’t spell Attraction without Action.

It didn’t click for me until I ACTED on what they were teaching me either directly or thru techniques I was picking up by watching them.  My mentors have always told me that ‘success leaves clues, there is no reason to try to ‘reinvent the wheel’.  So I just took what I had learned and implemented my own ‘flavor’ and my business started to grow.

When new agents come to me asking what it is I do to attract business or is there any ‘secrets’ they can implement.  I simply say, watch others that are successful and do what they do, add in your own personality and most of all take ACTION!

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

So true my friend.  I started over and picked up one of the Midwest's star realtor and teachers book, If I Could Start Over Again.  In this book by Walter Sanford he states the same ideas.  This moring I was reading in a Dirk Ziggler (am I spelling that correctly?) that of the four main characteristics of all successful people, doing something every single day is more important than your knowledge, skill or attitude.  So lets just get at it.  I am with you.

This is fantastic advice! There is always someone that can mentor even the most experienced! I love "you can't spell attraction without action!" Great post!

Scott you just hit the nail on the head!  Real Estate or otherwise, it is so true.  I came from a 17-year history in the "corporate world" was was just not happy & certainly not free.  I chose real estate (investing) because it was something I quickly became passionate about (solving buyers & seller's problems).

I see inaction and over analyzing in 99% of the "newbie" real estate investors that I meet every single day. It's so easy for me to write them all off. I need to take your advice and encourage them and hope that more will start taking action and see how simple it is to get out of the rut of a "real job".

Thanks for sharing!
