Speechless Sunday Grand Canyon and the Colorado River
I get a little anxious this time of the year for the Grand Canyon. Can you tell? Won't be long and I'll get my first dose for 2010, come on March!!!
These are awesome photos. I don't know how you got those shots, but they are absolutely stunning!
I have never been to the Grand Canyon. Drove near a couple times but never close enough to stop by and see it. I am sure pictures dont do it justice.

Robert-Thanks for your comments-You must go and see it. You are correct, the pictures don't do it justice. And, for me standing at the rim doesn't either, guess I'll have to get down there again in March, darn it :)
I love the shot looking down at the row boats. And how did you get up there on that ledge???
Jenny-thanks for your comments-We hiked up to the ledge, really not that high, it just looks that way. The milky blue water is from Havasupai Falls/creek. It was muddy from the flood that occured a few months prior to our river visit. The dory boats are a fantastic way to take in the Colorado River. 16 days seemed to fly by.

Hey Tony and Darcy-Thanks for your comments. Glad you like the photo of "me" at the graneries. It was so beautiful up there. It is pretty amazing to think that the Grand Canyon was home to so many people. I can't imagine what it was like except for the peace and tranquility part of it.

Hello Josee - The pictures look great. We were just talking about taking the kids to the Grand Canyon this year for spring break.
Andy-That's a great idea. Depending on what you're planning you surely need to plan ahead. Spring break is a very popular time at the Grand Canyon. We put our backcountry permit request in December 2009. People come from all over the world to hike and explore the Grand Canyon. We've been hiking in March for the last 10 years. It's pretty predictable as far as weather and crowds. Have a great time if you go.
