Your Photos ... Are They Crappy?

We can't tell you how often we get images submitted to us by clients and we have to tell them that we can't use them. The client can't understand why! More often than not it's due to fuzzy pictures or they are too low in resolution.

Here's what you can do to make sure that the images you provide as the best that they can be:

1) Buy a digital camera with the highest MegaPixels that you can afford! Some brands are better than others but the higher the mega-pixels, the higher the resolution of image you'll be taking. This will help out when you want to have a One Sheet created by a design agency for that all important Open House! The higher the resolution, the better!

2) BUY A TRIPOD AND NEVER TAKE A SHOT WITHOUT ONE! Shaky hands make blurry images and for those all important money-shots, you need to present that house/room in the best possible light!

3) Read your camera's manual and learn to use it thoroughly before taking those money-shots! Yes, we as designers can PhotoShop an image - but to a point. Making things lighter, etc. is doable but the less amount of fiddling with an image, the better - so read up on what settings to use for what kind of lighting situation, etc.

4) This point is specifically for Real Estate Agents - HIRE A STAGER - THEN take your pictures!

Cheers!
