The number of homes sold for 2010 compared to 2009 was down only 1%. 1%!! Do you know how long it has been since we have seen that kind of number? Especially for January. Look at January of 2009 compared to January of 2008. The number of homes sold for that time frame was down 28%. This 1% figure I can live with and I'm sure you can too.
When you compare the average sale price we are seeing GOOD NEWS too for POCONO REAL ESTATE. The average sale price for 2010 compared to 2009 stayed the same. STAYED THE SAME! Awesome. Then if you look at the average sale price of 2009 compared to 2008 the prices were down 11% for January. And continued to fall throughout the year.
Let's hope that our statistics continue to see these "minor" changes.
We are seeing little signs here and there that the market may continue this new POSITIVE pattern and will stabilize to a certain degree. Especially compared to last year WE ARE OFF TO A GREAT START!
So hopefully POCONO REAL ESTATE MARKET TRENDS will continue to be good news for the months to come and that the unemployment rate begins to drop with this positive news too.
