Local Board of Realtors

By
Real Estate Agent with Astro Realty (Buyer Agency)

Hello everyone. I would like to pose this question.  Do you think with the Internet evolving the way it is and social meda and advertising venues. Will there be a place or value for the LOCAL BOARDS.  for much longer? Hope to hear from many of you on this question.

Google and many websites are starting their own mls and we realtors post our listings all over the place.

What are your thoughts?  Thank you Paula

We are already seeing boards merge and I think that will continue to happen to cut costs AND attempt to be relevant.

Our board bought a new office 6+ years ago and failed to consider the location in relationship to the GROWTH of the area and now they need to look at the cramped parking spaces and poor office configuration.

Paula, our Association just built and moved into a new building last year. They provide a lot of activities and courses the Internet doesn't provide. They also control the lockboxes and are a share holder in the MLS. I think they are here to stay for a while.

I don't see local boards going away any time soon.  MLS is just one part of their usefulness.
