I was recently looking over the paperwork for a listing presentation when it dawned on me that the word Realtor has so many facet's. When we tell a person that we are a Realtor and we want them to buy or sell a home with us they are expecting us to be:
1. Teacher/Educator- We are chosen to relate pertinent information to the masses about value of owning rather than renting with enough common sense and conviction to tell a client that maybe they should wait a while so that they enough to live a not just have a house.
2. Marketing Specialist- We are expected to have the right strategy to assist our clients in selling there homes, even if it is a buyers market. Will you list it in the paper...Will it be on the Internet...How will the pictures look...will your advertisement get my home sold. Not to mention on top of that, you have to be able to market yourself in order to get customers.
3.Expert Negotiator- Can you get into the trenches and negotiate that price that your seller or buyer wants. Do you have the negotiation skills in you to get the job done.
4. Counselor- can you coach and guide your clients through the indecisive time or the time of anxiety when they feel like nothing is going right. Are you there with comfort and assurance in your answers to all there questions
5. Consultation Service- Can you recommend the right mortgage? Who is a good Home Inspector? What Attorney is the right one? Can you place your reputation at stake for the people around you?
I am quite sure there are so many other responsibilities that I am not mentioning and if you have some please share, but the question that most want to know is:
Are you the right person or do we have to look for another?
