The above photograph was taken recently in clean, green, Boulder City, Nevada. This year so far we got more rain than all of last year in Boulder City, Nevada. The average rainfall here is about 6 inches. We have been in a drought for the past few years and didn't achieve our average. Seems this year all that has changed. Lake Mead will rise about 3 inches this year according to The National Park Service. This has been a soggy year in Boulder City, Nevada. When all is said and done, Boulder City, Nevada is still a place I am proud to call home.
I hope that the Lake continues to rise, I believe the level was low for a while. I have not been to Boulder City for some time, but have very fond memories!
We recently had to put sand bags around the house here in California because of el niño! At least we aren't shoveling our way out of the driveways every day though.
I can't recall too many winters as unusal as this one! Without a doubt we need the rain, but enough already:-)
Well Steve, speaking for no one but nyself in this, it is easier to reconcile rain for a whole year if it would help to get the lakes and streams flowing and wildlife as well as citizens would enjoy the wet prosperity. Let it rain, Let it rain, Let it Rain, as the song goes. San Diego has been in a drought for so long and the reservoirs are down so low, it would soon be affecting the quality of life, not withstanding the cost of water here, which is unbelievable and will go up several more times I suspect this year again.
Hi Steve - it's good to hear your rainfall has increased - it will do alot of good in many ways!

Steve...Great to hear you finally are getting some rain and it is wonderful the lake finally begin to rise. I drive through Boulder City several times a year on the way to Las Vegas so I will be able to observe the lakes rise as I cross the bridge.
