"Envision Victor seeks to implement a new kind of planning in our City, a process that is focused on engaging our citizens, bridging our divisions, and honoring our shared values, in order to realize a vibrant and enduring Victor for years to come. The first phase of the project will last two years, but we hope it will continue well beyond."
I just attended A Virtual Tour of Victor. I liked the tools presented to help people grasp a visual including a new 3D model of Victor, Idaho. The process of collecting information was shared and an explanation of how all the values they have been collecting will be used. In addition the transportation plan was presented.
Envision Victor has been working with the City, the Teton Valley Economic Development Council, and several local business owners to create the Victor Community Partnership.
We were given key pads and asked to vote on a few questions, like what is most important in our community.
There will be some online polling for what is most valuable to us as a community, and for those of us that do not use the computer, paper polling as well.

Some food for thought, in no way intended to be provocative:
- Economic growth and opportunity may be more important than where do we put the snow.
- The majority of the people that voted tonight did not like the street plan. It may be helpful if there were some explanations of why things are planned in such a way.
- During the presentation it was indicated there are 3000 people in and near the city of Victor.
- It would be nice if the public would have freedom to explore the data gathered by this exercise.
- We should perhaps consider the value of gathering places
- A very interesting thought, math ratios of gathering places per population.
- I felt that some of the terms used in the questions would mean totally different things to different people.
I am glad to see a pro-active approach to development and think that the more involved we become, the more we can come together as a community and plan for our futures.
