Get this: Google is taking pictures of the INSIDE of retail stores now, adding a new feature called "Store Views" to their deadly arsenal of information. Using Store Views you will be able to see all the products for sale on the shelves of any store, and click to purchase them. Pictures are taken inside the stores at six foot intervals. A mammoth task, but Google is undaunted.
And so I ask: Where will it end Google? Will your voraciousness for content end at my street view, or will a GoogleGuy be ringing my bell, asking to take a picture of the inside of my medicine cabinets?
Imagine this: As soon as you fall asleep, GoogleGuy slips into your house (after an online consent of course- you clicked to "Agree"). The tireless camera wielder takes a picture of every single thing in your house, leaving no stone, or shirt, or plate, unturned.
When you awaken, your entire life is on Google. They call it "Life View" or something.
Do I have enough aspirin? Why use all the energy it takes to walk to the bathroom to check when I can virtually walk there, click on the picture of a near empty bottle, AND purchase a refill, if needed.
Do I need more paper plates? Google's photo recognition technology will tell me exactly how many are in the house, both used and unused, since they take pictures of the garbage as well (you never know when you might want to "Google" what you threw out).
Facebook integration will allow me to "walk through" my friends houses as well. Google will then be able to answer every question I ever have.
"What kind of mustard does Joey use?" or
"Does Phil wear boxers, briefs, or boxer-briefs (-my personal favorite)?"
Google Life View. Your Life, Online. I can't wait.
