I am curious if any brokers out there are having Open Houses today during the Super Bowl. I think it will be a great day for an open house since the game doesn'tstart until late afternoon. Hopefully buyers will use the time before the game to go check out a house or two. I would like to hear about other brokers strategies about open houses on holidays etc.
Scott,
Some people don't watch the Super Bowl, and will be delighted to look at open house. Best wishes.
Over the years I have done many a Open on Super Bowl Sunday. This year I will not My observation over the years is that most people ( usually unacompanied women) are surprised that I am not watching the game.
There in lies the heart of the problem. ( unacompanied women )
They may like the home but often are not able to get the spouse back to see the house. Especially for those who stumble across the home via your sign.
For me it has been nothing more than a time waister.
Scott....my team and I have four subdivisions of new construction, and we have a saturday and sunday open house every weekend unless the earth separates....and as long as it's not separating on site, we'll probably still be there!!!! seriously, we have them every weekend except christmas and easter....EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND.
Well, if they want to see it, they will come and I hope they do - turn on the TV and let them cheer on the teams and stay for awhile!
Not only am I holding an open house, I am showing property. In our small community, people take notice to agents that work no matter what's going on that weekend. Our company has a large open house ad which is a great opportunity to show the public you are out there. So, even if my traffic is light, the ad does a lot for me and the seller!
Don't get me wrong, I am going to a super bowl party. I'll just be a little late.
